The brief requirement was to set up three interdependent functions within the same premises with very strict operational requirement for each. viz a viz open office for exam support staff, high security area for exam material, & uninterrupted and private candidate journey for computer-based exam.
Through feasibility studies of various sites accessing them on security needs and clean environment responsibility of the client, finally, 6th floor of Hines, One Horizon Center, Gurgaon was selected.
The floor plate was divided into three sections with reception acting as core to interconnect three functions’ flow.
Office The open plan office is designed to be collaborative. Filled with uninterrupted natural light, all sections of the office enjoys a clean, open interior manifesting client’s requirement of interdependence. Addressing the needs of staff looking for a quiet place to retreat and work on projects uninterrupted, a large quiet room as well as phone booths, focus pods, and individual long-stay, and short-stay desks depending on number of hours person is working for in open spaces provide choice and comfort. The staff embraced the opportunity of smart working and become a showcase fully agile workplace.
Separate candidate journey was sequenced through registration procedures, security checks, waiting lounge to a Computer Based Testing Hall.
Highly secured series of confidential material storage halls and marking halls were planned facilitating swift movement of around thousand suitcases daily from basement, through service lift to various CMH undergoing bulk packaging/ unpackaging and storage of exam material without disquieting office and exam operations.
A thick wooden “amoeba table” with natural wood grain forms a functional and aesthetic collaborative furniture.
Organic flow is created with café rounded wall which are juxtaposed with live green wall.
Indian keynotes were used throughout the premises manifested in film patterns and graphics.
